The
OBX Swim Club is looking for qualified part-time swim instructors for the
2007/2008 season.
Position
Description:
Assistant
Swim Coach for year-round competitive, not-for-profit swim
program
Ability
to coach children ages 5-18 with varying levels of swimming
expertise
Participation
in all swim meets as assigned, typically held on Saturdays and Sundays one to
two weekends per month from October through February and monthly May through
July.
Manage
all aspects of weekly practice (from 3-5 days per week, mostly evenings),
including planning for practice routines that will teach the swimmers all
aspects of competitive swimming (strokes, turns, starts,
etc.)
Provide
structure and discipline during all swim team activities
Back-up
Head Swim Coach during practices and meets as needed
Document
and communicate progress, concerns, successes to other coaches and parents as
necessary
Qualifications:
Passion
for children!
Background
in competitive swimming programs preferred
Previous
swim coach experience preferred - however, other coaching experience may be
acceptable
Must
be reliable, flexible and mature
Must
be able to obtain appropriate certifications as required by local and national
swim associations - these certification sessions may occur in the evenings or
on weekends
Excellent
inter-personal skills
Ability
to work independently
An

The Outer Banks Swim Club had 2 swimmers, Henry and Jon Roach, represent their team in the Long Course Age Group Championship held in Newport News, Virginia on July 19-22 2007.
The Outer Banks Swim Club competed in the Summer Awards Meet in Manassas Virginia, July 13-15, 2007. Our club had 24 top 10 finishes and many new personal best times. Not a bad stat when you consider there were over 900 swimmers competing from across the state. You can find Meet Results
