Our new head coach is David E. Jones from Statesville, NC. Coach Jones comes to us from the Iredell-Statesville YMCA Seahawks which competes both at YMCA & USA Swim meets. Coach Jones is an ASCA (American Swim Coach Association) Level 3 certified coach with more than 14 years experience as a swim coach. We are excited about the coming year and Coach Jones' leadership of our team.
At this time, Coach Jones is in the process of relocating to the Outer Banks and will be with our team full time by September 15th. Until then, Coach Jones has asked Coach Matt to get our teams practices underway.
Starting tomorrow, September 9th, Coach Matt will begin holding practices for all swimmers on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All swimmers are encouraged to attend their scheduled practice time. At this time, the practices will be as follows:
Senior Swimmers/13 and Older - 4:30PM to 6:00PM
8 and Under - 5:00PM to 5:45PM
9 to 12 year olds - 6:00PM - 7:15PM
Prior to participating in practice, all swimmers (returning and new) should complete the registration form, Code of Conduct, the Assumption of Risk and submit with the annual registration fee of $100.00, prior to participating in practice. (Copies of the necessary forms are on the web site and can be found at the team bulletin board at the YMCA.) Updated program fee information will be provided prior to September 15th. Initially there may be minor changes to our program,to allow Coach Jones the opportunity to get to know our swimmers and our program. We hope everyone can be flexible as we adjust our program in the coming weeks.
