Practice Changes for the week ahead

There are two changes to the practice schedule for the week

1.)  Wednesday April 29, 2009 practice is combined for all groups from 6:00 - 7:30PM

2.)  Friday May 1, 2009 practice will be combined for all groups from 5:00 - 6:30PM

Please advise the changes.

The Tide warm-up schedule will be posted soon, so please continue to be patient.

Weekly Update

These are the messages for the week of April 20 - 26, 2009

Welcome back to all swimmers for the long course season.  The OBX Swim Club's coaching staff is anticipating another great summer season.

For the entire week, we will be on regular practice schedule for all groups with 1 change.

--  There will be NO Saturday morning practice.

The 1st long course meet is only two weeks away.  It is the Tide A/BB/B/C meet held at fleet rec pool in Norfolk VA.  Download TIDE A-BB-B-C Meet, May 1-3.  There is a sign-up sheet on the bulentin board at the YMCA.  The sign-up deadline was this past Friday, but the deadline will be extended until this Monday April 20, 2009.  Please sign-up if there is an interest to go.

There is a Tide's baseball game this Sunday April 26, 2009 at 1:15PM.  All swimmers that did come to practice three times a week for the month of March will be eligible to go.  Please stay advised for more information from the coaching staff and also on the bulentin board.

The volunteer sign-up sheet for the OBX Swim Club hosted meet on June 6-7, 2009 is also up on the bulentin board at the YMCA.  The sheet needs to be filled up with volunteers by May 15, 2009.  If you are swimming this Long Course Season, you are expected to sign-up for the meet.

Beginning June 1, 2009 there will be an option for all 12 & Unders on M/W/F's....either being at Kilmarlic or the YMCA.

Weekly Update

These are the messages for the week of April 6 - 12, 2009

--  Due to the last week of practice before the team's spring break, there will combined practices for all groups, each day, from 5:00 - 6:15PM.  The 8 & Unders will continue to have M,W,F practices, but from 5:00 - 6:00PM.  All other practice groups will be from 5:00 - 6:15PM.

--  The swim club's spring break will run from April 11 - 19, 2009.  We will resume practices on Monday April 20, 2009.

This summer practice schedule will start the day after school gets out.

--  Thank you everyone for coming out and supporting the OBX Swim Club at out annual Short Course Awards Banquet this past Friday at Western Sizzlin.  Great job to all swimmers that participated in the joyous occasion and also congrats to all swimmers that received awards.

--  There will be a volunteer sign-up sheet for our meet in June 2009 up very soon at the YMCA.  All parents need to mark off June 6- 7 and be ready and willing to work for a great cause for all of our children.

All summer practice schedules, summer meet schedules and volunteer sign-up sheets will be posted at the YMCA and on the website NO later than Wednesday April 8, 2009.
