OBX Swim Club's May Newsletter has been distributed to all swimmer's folders at the pool (1 copy per family).  Please remind your swimmer to bring their copy home to share. Coach Craig has a few extra copies if you know of someone who may be interested in additional information about our club.

The next quarterly issue will be published in August and the submission deadline is July 21st.  Thanks to everyone who contributed and helped with the first issue!

Weekly Update

These are the messages for the week of April 28 - May 4, 2008

We will be on regular practice schedule for the week with two (2) changes:

1.  There will NO practice Friday due to the Tide meet this weekend.

2.  There will be NO practice Saturday either due to the Tide meet this weekend.

Our 1st Long course meet is this upcoming weekend.  Coach Craig is going to be looking for a few very specific things to be done this next weekend.  The warm-up times will be posted No later than Wednesday April 30, 2008.

Please Advise:

Many kids on the team have still not brought in an old pair of tennis shoes.  Please bring in a pair ASAP so we can get to work on making our legs stronger.

The ECSL Meet in Morehead City, June 20 - 22, 2008, is for all swimmers NOT attending Bolles.  Please be looking out for an e-mail sign-up with sign-up deadline on Wednesday May 28, 2008.  Entries after that date will not be eligible to participate.

Grand Slam Beach Week Raffle Winner

Congratulations to Jane Barnhill of Wilson, NC - she is the lucky winner of the Grand Slam Beach Week Raffle!

A special thanks to the Gibbs family for the generous donation of a week in their beautiful beach house, Grand Slam, and to the Keenan family for the Moneysworth beach rental gift certificate  Thanks to all for selling raffle tickets and for your continued support of our club.

These are the messages for the week of April 21 - 27

All groups will be on regular practice schedule for the entire week.

All children need to bring in an old pair of tennis shoes, that will be stored at the YMCA, for in the water conditioning in the future.

All children wanting to go to Bolles in June still have the obligations to uphold themselves. 

12 & U:
AT LEAST 80% practice attendance
AT LEAST 6 - BB time standards OR 4 - A time standards
The correct attitude in every aspect

Seniors
AT LEAST 90% practice attendance
A time standards in every event being swam at the meet
The correct attitude in every aspect

Weekly Update

These are the messages for the week of April 14 - 20, 2008

We will be on regular practice schedule for the week with two changes.

-- There will be NO practice Saturday morning.

-- There will be a make up practice for all 9 - 18 year olds from 2-4 P.M. on Sunday, April 20th.

The OBX Swim Club's swim meet scheduled for April 19-20 has been CANCELED. 

Please respond to your invite for the upcoming May meet(s) promptly so I can process the entries.  If you have not received a sign-up invite for your May meet via email please contact me ASAP.

All swimmers attending the Derby Meet in Fairfax, VA:  Please have your horse names back to me by Wednesday, April 16th.

Also, I am  looking into a meet for all swimmers not attending the Bolles School Meet in Jacksonville, FL.  It will be in Morehead City, NC on June 20 - 22, 2008 and is open to all swimmers.  More information will be available soon.
