Additional Announcements

Addendum to this week's announcements:

1. Senior practice for this Friday, March 30, 2007 will be cancelled, but there will be practice on Sunday April 1, 2007 from 3:30 - 5:30 PM.
2. Any Seniors that want a written practice to do on Friday on their own, it will be available on paper at the pool on Thursday.
3. The 12 and unders will have practice on Friday March 30, 2007  from 6:30 - 7:30 PM with coach Dianna.
4. After Spring Break, practice will resume on Monday, April 16th 2007.

March 26 - April 1st

• We will continue to videotape and do stroke work all of this week.
• Practice schedules --  9 - 10 , 11-12 , and seniors will be combined from 4:30  --  6:30 PM monday through friday.
• 8 and unders will practice from 6:30 - 7:15PM   Mon, Wed, and Friday.
• A TENTATIVE Summer (long course) meet and practice schedules will be posted and available on Sunday.  Please be aware that the schedule is not definite until we get oks from everyone.
• No practice during Spring Break, April 6 - 14.
• Awards Banquet is scheduled for Friday, April 27th at the Western Sizzlin in KDH. Please rsvp and pay by April 15th.
• Contact Coach Craig if you have questions.

OBX Swim Club at Age Group Champs

Hilarey Netch and Henry Roach competed this past weekend at the Virginia Age Group Championship Meet.  You can find Meet Results , New Time Standards , New Team Records and Updated Team Records .

Weekly Update March 19 - 25th

1. ALL 9 - 18 year olds will have combined practices from Monday - Friday @ 4:30 - 6:30 PM
2. The swimmers at practice all week will be videotaped with the underwater camera plus out of the water cameras also.
3. We will also be working in these groups: stroke technique, streamlines, next season potential, and re-watching videos.   DON'T MISS IT !!!!!!!!!!
4. All 8 and unders will be at regular practice time all three days from 6:30 - 7:15 PM Mon., Wed., and Fri.
5. If you see Henry Roach and/or Hilarey Netsch, please say congrats and great job at Age Group Champs. Henry Roach swam two  "AAA "  times this weekend in the 1000 Free and 1650 Free.  Great Job!!!
6. Sunday's Practice will be cancelled due to Coach Craig's family obligations.

Drew Keenan at Short Course Senior Champs

Drew Keenan from the Outer Banks Swim Club competed in the Virginia Short Course Senior Champs held at the University of Virginia on March 8-11, 2007.  Drew qualified for this statewide meet in five events ranging from the 50 yard freestyle to the 1650 yard freestyle (mile).  Drew had a top 16 finish, set two lifetime best times and broke two OBX Swim Club Records.  Congratulations Drew!

March 12-18

• Regular Practice schedule for the week up through Wednesday.
• Senior Practices for Thursday and Friday will be written and posted.
• There will be no age group practice on Thursday.
• Senior Practice is cancelled for Sunday due to Age Group Champs.
• Wish Hilarey Netsch and Henry Roach good luck and swim fast this weekend at age group champs when you see them.

OBX Swim Club on front page of the N.C section of The Virginian Pilot

The OBX Swim Club made the front page of the North Carolina section of the Virginian Pilot today.  They all looked happy going in - you should have seen their faces after they hit the 43 degree water.

Polar Plunge and the OBX Swim Club

Tori, Joseph Jon and Gracie take the plunge for a good cause.  Water temps were a balmy 43 degrees
Four members of the Outer Banks Swim Club participated in the OBX YMCA Polar Plunge.   Others team members worked on the float in preparation for the Kelly's St. Patrick's Day Parade.  Thanks to parents Rich Rollason, Jon Gates and Bryan and Amy Lowe for all of their hard work in getting the float together.  See you at the parade on Sunday.
   

Weekly Announcements

• Seniors have written practices for Thursday and Friday , and the seniors' practices will start at 5:00PM each day.  You will be out of the water by 6:45
• There will be no practice for anyone on Sunday March 11, 2007.
• The 12 and unders are on regular practice schedule for Thursday and Friday. 
• If you see Drew Keenan anytime , please wish him good luck.
• Saturday, March 10th 12 Noon. Meet at the Lowe's residence on Sturgeon Dr. in Nags Head to decorate the float. Swimmers are asked to bring 2 large bags of candy for the parade--bring to practice on Friday.
• St. Patrick's Day Parade is on Sunday--starts at 1 PM. More info will be available on Saturday in terms of where to meet.  Come enjoy the fun! (Make sure you reset your clocks on Saturday)
