Feb 26 - March 2

·       Practices on February 27th and February 28th 2007 are cancelled for 12 and unders due to coaches training out-of-town.  Seniors will receive written practices for those two days.

·       Regular practice schedule for all age groups on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.  Swimmers regularly scheduled on Wed. can practice on Thursday.

A/BB Champs this past weekend was an absolute success.  Some outstanding swims and swimmers' results:

·       Hilarey Netsch -- 200 Breast -- 2:44.0 New ''A'' time and 1st age group champ cut.

·       Brittney Gibbs -- 100 Free -- 1:01.0 "A" and 200 Free -- 2:10.2 "A" Two new A times.

·       Rachel Miller -- 200 Butterfly -- 2:32 New LTB time

·       Drew Keenan -- 200 Free  and 50 Free; New LTB times and 2 new senior champ cuts.

·       Henry Roach -- 200 Breast and 200 Back; New LTB and 2 new age group champ cuts.

·       Kaitlyn Godsey -- All new LTB swims in all 8 events.

·       Great job to ALL swimmers!

Our swim club will participate again this year in the St. Patrick's Day parade. We have 3 terrific swim dads planning our float. Put Sunday, March 11th on your calendar (parade day). There will be a work session on the weekend prior to assemble the float and collect candy donations for the parade.

Our annual swim team banquet is in the planning stage. Stay tuned as information will be forthcoming.

OBX Swim Club participates in District Championship

 

 

The Outer Banks Swim Club competed last weekend in the District Championship Meet held at Ft. Eustis Aquatics Center.  Our swimmers had a great meet and a fun pool and pizza party at the Omni Hotel.  You can find Meet Results , Relay Results , New Time Standards, New Team Records and updated Team Records .

Swim Announcements Feb 19th

• Regular practice schedule for all groups for Mon. through Wed.  Feb. 19th - 21st.
• There will be a combined practice for ALL A/BB swimmers on Thursday from 5-6PM
• All other swimmers not going to A/BB champs will be with coach Dianna from 6:30PM to 7:30PM on Thursday
• There will be no practice on Friday Feb. 23rd due to the Swim Meet
• Great swims this past weekend at B/C awards.  We came in as one of the smallest teams at the meet, and our colors flew high and proud.  We have a whole lot of new B and BB times from everyone.  All kids should be proud of their swims.  Great job swimmers!
• Warm-up schedule for A/BB champs are as follows:

13 and overs --Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Prelims--6:45 - 7:45 AM

12 and unders --Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Timed finals--12:30 - 1:30 PM

13 and overs --Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Finals-- 5:00 - 5:45 PM

• The Amended Tidewater Region Champs invitation is now posted. 
• Reminders from Debbie Gibbs, Treasurer: Monthly fees are due this week and 2/3rds of your fundraising commitment should have been raised or paid by now. 100% of the Fundraising commitment is due by the end of the month. Debbie is updating her computer system so statements will be delayed this month.
• Meet fees for this weekend are as follows: Individual events: $3.60/event, Relay events: $13.00 and a Swimmer surcharge: $2.00 per person (entered in the meet in any capacity). For example, if your swimmer is entered in 6 individual events, your meet fees are a total of $23.60. Please leave your payment in the drop box this week. Thank you, parents.

Meet Entries for Feb. 16-18

• Meet entries for B/C Champs on Feb 16-18 are now posted. The meet invitation is posted under the heading, USA Meet Info, on the left.  Please take note of the schedule.  All 10 & younger swimmers will swim Saturday and Sunday mornings. All 11 to 14 year old swimmers will swim afternoons. The Friday distance session begins at 5:30 with warm-ups at 4:30 PM.
• Congratulations to our high school swimmers who proudly represented both First Flight High School and Manteo High School at the 1A/2A State Championships last weekend. Arielle Pickrel, Angela Crotser, and Brittney Gibbs represented Manteo. Mel Broadhurst, Tyler Daughtry, and Drew Keenan represented First Flight. Congratulations!
