January 29 - February 4

1. Regular practice schedule for the week of Jan. 29 - Feb. 2, 2007. There will be no practice on Sunday due to the ODAC meet on Feb. 3 - 4.
2. Meet entries for this weekend are posted here and on the bulletin board. Good luck, swimmers!
3. The North Carolina High School State Meet is on Saturday Feb. 3rd, and Coach Dianna will at the ODAC meet with everyone on that Saturday. Good luck to our high school swimmers!
4. The meet invitation for District Champs on Feb 16-18 is now posted on the website and the bulletin board. Rooms are available at the Omni for $99/night. Call the Omni at 757-873-6664 and give them reservation #2008165454 to get your room reserved at that rate.  Look over the invitation--10 & Younger swimmers will swim mornings and 11 to 14 year olds will swim afternoons.
5. Just to let everyone know:  The meet sign-up sheet that Nancy Stevens put together at the beginning of the season is how I, Coach Craig, put together entries for the upcoming meets.  If your child will not be swimming at these meets, then scratch their names off of the sheet at the YMCA, and they won't be entered, and you won't be billed.  The meet sign-up sheet is used for the purpose of its name.
6. Thanks to swimmers and parents for your support at the Bake Sale on Saturday. Amy Lowe reports that $663 was collected. Pictures from the Bake Sale are posted on the website. Look at the photo album in the upper-left corner. Special thanks to our fundraising chair, Amy Lowe, (& her family) for this well-planned event. It is through the efforts of our dedicated swim parents that we are able to provide a swim club for our kids.

Results from the WAC 13 and over meet

The Outer Banks Swim Team competed last weekend at the WAC Winter Splash.  Coach Craig was pleased with the results - most swimmer bettered their life time best times.  You can find Meet Results, New Time Standards, New Team Records and Updated Team Record.  Great job swimmers!

Jan 22-28 Announcements

• Regular practice schedule for the week with the exception of Monday's practice being cancelled;  the 8 and unders will be offered on Tuesday Feb 23rd from 6:30 to 7:15pm.
• t-shirt orders need to be handed in with a check payable to OBX Swim Club ASAP.  All kids need to have all 3 shirts because on meet weekends they will be expected to wear their shirts.  The shirts are red and grey.  Order forms were placed in swimmers' folders.
• There have been changes to the short course meet schedule.  There is an all age meet on Feb. 3-4.  This meet is not a change to the 12 and unders, but the 13 and overs will also be at this meet. Please send craig bialorucki an e-mail if you are a 13 and over and plan on attending the meet.
• This past weekend was an absolute success.  Most kids attending this meet swam LTB times, and everyone is performing as they should be at this point in the season. 
• The high school kids have a state meet on Feb. 3, 2007....... Make sure when you see them, you wish them good luck.

• Don't forget the Bake Sale this weekend at the Wal-Mart. Drop off your baked good at 9:30 Saturday morning at Wal-Mart. You can also contact Amy Lowe and give her your items at Friday night's practice. Thanks for your support!

January Announcements

• Regular practice schedule for Monday through Thursday the week of Jan 15th.
• Practice is cancelled Friday due to a high school meet. Good Luck to our high school swimmers!
• Practice is cancelled on Sunday due to the 13 and over meet. Warm-ups for the 13 and over meet are as follows:
  --  BB/B/C   7:30 AM
  --  A+         12:30PM
  Be there at least a half an hour before hand. Meet entries are posted here and on the bulletin board.
• T-shirts can be paid for by check and just drop it in the mailbox. Red and gray t-shirts are available for swimers at $15.00 per shirt. The black OBX shirts are available to parents and supporters of the OBX Swim Club.
• The meet invitation for Feb 3-4 is now posted. It has been changed to all age groups. The meet is at Ft. Eustis and ODAC is hosting. Check the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board to verify that you have signed up for this meet. If your plans change, contact Coach Craig ASAP. Thanks.
• Bake Sale fundraiser on Saturday, January 27th 9:30 AM at Wal-Mart. Bring at least one item--more items=more $$. Information has been placed in swimmers' folders. Contact Amy Lowe if you have questions or would like to volunteer.
• Remind your swimmer to check their folder this week. Invoices for swim meet registration fees will be placed in the folders. Some of the fees go back to the December meets. Typically, the fees are $3/individual event plus a $2 swimmer surcharge. Relay events are $12/relay team. If you have questions, contact Debbie Gibbs, treasurer.

ODAC 12 and Under Meet Results

WAC B/C Mini December 06 Meet

The results are in.  The OBX Swim Club participated in the WAC B/C Mini meet in December of 2006.  A special thanks to ODAC and Coach Melissa for keeping our swimmers on track.  You can find Meet Results, New Time Standards and New Team Records.  Great job swimmers!

Annapolis December Meet Results

The OBX Swim Club attended  the Holiday Meet in Annapolis MD in December.  There were some fast swims and everyone had a great time.  You can find Meet Results, New Time Standards and New Team Records.  Great job swimmers.
