Wed. Aug. 30th update

due to weather conditions, the inside pool at the YMCA is closed this afternoon.  weather permitting, swimmers will be back in the pool on thursday. you can always call the Y to inquire about the status of the pool when we have weather alerts.

No Practice on Monday, September 4th

There will be no practice on Monday, September 4th.  The YMCA indoor facility will be closed for Labor Day.

Kelly Hospitality Group Fun Run Commercial

 

The Outer Banks Swim Club is helping out with the Kelly Hospitality Group Outer Banks Fun Run being held on November 11th, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. at the First Flight High School Track.  The commercial will be shown locally on Channel 12 and 19.  Hope to see everyone there.

2006-07 Returning Swimmers

1. Returning swimmers can return to the pool on Monday, Aug 14^th. The practice schedule is posted on the website.  Returning swimmers need to return an updated registration form, contract, release form, code of conduct  along with a check covering $100 registration fee (which covers annual usa swimming dues, t-shirt, cap, etc), pro-rated payment for August (1/2 of your usual monthly dues) and September dues.   You can put these items in the Swim Team Drop Box.

2. Registration forms are posted on the web site.  Please note that the contract has a 9 or a 12 mo. option. There is a discount for paying in 2 installments. The website also has the short course meet schedule and other updated items for the 2006-07 season. Look under the Team Information section in the sidebar to find this information.

3. New swimmer registration begins in September.  Please refer interested swimmers to our website for more information. We plan to have flyers distributed in the schools, too.

4. Swim-A-Thon is scheduled for Wed. October 11th.  It is an early dismissal day on the school calendar.

• Age 13 & older Mon-Fri 4:30-6:30 PM/Tue 6:00-7:30 AM/Sun 3:30-5:30 PM $130 per month
• Age 11-12 Mon-Fri 6:30-8:00 PM/Sun 3:30-5:30 PM $110 per month
• Age 9-10 Mon-Fri 6:30-7:30 PM $95 per month
• Age 8 & under Mon, Wed, Fri 6:30-7:15 PM $70 per month

Filming Commercial on August 10th

OBX Swim Club has been asked to provide some volunteer support for the Outer Banks Fun Run which is part of the OBX Marathon weekend in November.  Information available at http://www.obxmarathon.org/funrun.htm The commercial for the Fun Run is being filmed tomorrow Thursday, August 10th; 9:30 A.M. @ Kelly’s Restaurant and our swimmer’s have been asked to participate along with Mike Kelly.

We were just notified that it's being filmed tomorrow so we're sorry about the late notice. But it's a great opportunity to promote our Club!

We need as many swimmers available as possible in team gear!! That means swim caps, googles on the head - t-shirts, swim suits, jackets – anything that shows you're an OBX Swimmer.
