Summer Swim Meet

As most of our summer swimmers know, there was an attempt to schedule a small meet to be held at Outer Banks Health & Racquet Club on July 29th.  Due to some scheduling issues, this is not going to work out. 

We have several teams interested in attending a small meet at OBHRC in September (prior to the short course meet season beginning) and will continue to pursue a confirmation on a date and details.  Information will be published as soon as it is available.

2 Miles of Sand Extreme XC Foot Race

2 Miles of Sand Extreme XC Foot Race will be held this year at Jockey's Ridge on Saturday August 19, 2006 at 10:00 AM.  The proceeds of the race benefit the Manteo High School Cross Country Team.  The OBX Swim Club has been asked to volunteer and hand out sandwiches & drinks.

Practice changes week of July 17-21

Due to the upcoming Age Group Championship @ GMU, Manassas; practice changes for the week of July 17-21 are as follows:

Thursday, July 20th: No afternoon practice sessions at the YMCA, swimmers are encouraged to attend morning practice at OBHRC (10 & under: 8-9 A.M., 11 & older 8-10 A.M.)

Friday, July 21st: Practice at both the YMCA & OBHRC is cancelled.

Summer Awards Meet Results

The OBX Swim Club had a great time in Fairfax Virginia for the Summer Awards Long Course Meet.  We had eight swimmers make the trek to Northern Virginia and a great time was had by all. 

Meet Results, Individual Records, and new Long Course Team Records are available.

Practice Changes Week of July 3-7

Due to the 4th of July Holiday and the Summer Awards Meet, practice changes for the week of July 3-7 are as follows:

Tuesday (7/4), Thursday & Friday (7/6-7) afternoon practice at the YMCA is cancelled. 

Swimmers may attend morning practice at the Outer Banks Health & Racquet Club outdoor pool.  Craig will be coaching morning practice on 7/4 & 7/6 and Debbie Luke will be covering morning practice on 7/7 while Craig attends the meet in Fairfax with our team.

11 & older / 8-10 A.M.
10 & under / 8-9 A.M.
