Welcome to Week 3!
Thanks to all parents who were able to attend the general meeting last Wednesday evening. It was great to see everyone and get a chance to talk. Coach Amanda, Sarah, Karey and I will be holding a practice group meeting in October for each individual group so we can update all parents. In the mean time, please do not hesitate to call or email me if you have questions or concerns. No question is too small or unimportant-especially to new swimming families.
I am pleased to report that freestyle drills have been improving in all groups. In the Developmental group, breathing drills have been accomplished and everyone is moving on to learning how to balance and scull in the water. The Junior groups will begin backstroke this week and will continue learning/improving freestyle flip turns and finishes. The senior group will finish with butterfly drills and begin the endurance phase of their season.
Junior Elite: If you have not met for goal setting please see me. I am taking appointments Wednesday evenings. If you have met with me and have not received your goal setting book please let me know.
Senior: We will begin dryland on Wednesday, Sept.22 in Fitness Room B at 4:00PM at the YMCA. Dryland conditioning will be on Wednesday and Friday in Fitness Room B. Wear appropriate work out clothes and shoes.
TEAM PHOTO INFORMATION:
DEVELOPMENTAL, JUNIOR PREP, JUNIOR, JUNIOR ELITE: No Practice on Monday, September 27th:Team picture @ 4:30 p.m. SENIORS practice at usual time- 6:00-8:00 PM- after picture taking. Weather permitting, we will take our team picture on the beach. Take the road next to Dowdy's Amusement Park across to the beach road and park in the large parking lot on the beach. In case of rain, we will take the photo at the YMCA pool.
All swimmers please remember to bring the following to practice:
Goggles- you might invest in an extra pair, just in case!
Cap-girls at practice, everyone at meets
Fins- we will be ordering them soon, do not buy scuba fins!
Water or sports drink- Accelerade, Endurox, (only found at GNC or internet) Gatorade

Developmental: 3:15-4:15 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (2x a week)
Junior Prep: 3:15-4-15 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
Junior: 4:15-6:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
Junior Elite: 4:15-6:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday + 1 Senior practice per week
High School Prep: 6:00-7:00 PM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. 4:00-5:00 PM-Wednesday
Senior: 6:00-8:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. 4:00-6:00- Wednesday, Friday

Team Picture Day- Monday, September 27, 4:30 PM- Location- Nags Head public beach access at East Bonnett St. and old beach road- on the beach!!
OBX YMCA Swim Meet- October 2 at home. Visiting teams are Norfolk & Newport News YMCA. Make plans to be there and swim!
